Key Attractions & Activities

• Whale Watching (Mirissa): The premier location in Sri Lanka to see Blue Whales and Sperm Whales. The season runs from November to April. Always book with a verified, ethical tour operator.

• Surfing (Weligama): Weligama Bay has a sandy bottom and consistent, gentle rolling waves, making it one of the best places in Asia to learn how to surf. The beach is lined with board rental shacks and instructors.

• Secret Beach & Parrot Rock (Mirissa): Two highly photographed locations. Secret Beach is a secluded cove requiring a short hike or a steep tuk-tuk ride, while Parrot Rock is a small tidal island accessible right from the main beach.
