Nine Arches Bridge

Overview

Also known as the 'Bridge in the Sky', this massive viaduct is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country. It was built entirely of brick, rock, and cement—without a single piece of steel.

What to Expect

Surrounded by lush jungle and tea plantations, it is a highly photogenic spot. Visitors can walk directly on the tracks (just be mindful of the train schedules!).

• Entry Fee: Free.
• Access: A moderate 30-minute hike from Ella town, or accessible via a quick tuk-tuk ride to the trailhead.
• Best Time: Early morning for mist, or check the local station for train crossing times for the perfect photo.
